Female Supremacist Strategy: Control the Judges, Control the Court

2020.09.07 20:18 Cryptolexicon Female Supremacist Strategy: Control the Judges, Control the Court

Female Supremacist Strategy: Control the Judges, Control the Court
"Feminists control judges and control the Court by intimidating anyone who deviates from Feminist Judicial practice and Feminist Extra-Judicial Dogma."
Judges are expected to stay within the prescribed boundaries of Feminism. If they don't, Feminists will destroy them. On short order, Feminists can organize judicial recalls. As an example, look at what was done to Judge Aaron Persky.

The Persky Effect

Judge Aaron Persky
The Persky effect is the unwillingness of a judge to rule in a proper manner, fearing feminist retaliation which will place his job security in jeopardy. Due process and the rule of Law are suborned to self-preservation and career protection.
In 2016, Aaron Persky, Superior Court Judge and former prosecutor, acting on the recommendation of the Santa Clara Probation Department, sentenced first time offender Brock Turner to six months in Jail and three years probation.
Turner had been convinced of three counts of sexual assault.
Feminists began protests outside of the Santa Clara courthouse chanting "Hey, hey, ho, ho, Judge Persky has got to go." (Louie, David (2016). Protest held against Judge Persky following Brock Turner's release. ABC7, Sep 02 2016., See also: Roberts, Michelle (2016). Protests continue in fight to recall Santa Clara County judge in Brock Turner case. NBC, Sep 02 2016.)
In response, Persky stated that "California Law requires every judge to consider rehabilitation and probation for first time offenders", adding that a judge cannot allow the opinions of others to factor in his decisions.
Furious feminists targeted Judge Persky, leading him to resign from his position on the criminal bench and return to hearing civil cases (Smith, Doug (2016). Judge in Stanford rape case asks for move to civil cases. Los Angeles Times, Aug 25 2016.)
**This wasn't enough - Feminists wanted permanent blood from Judge Persky, to send a clear message to judges who might think about deviating from feminist judicial practice and feminist extra-judicial dogma.*\*
More than a million signatures were obtained to place a recall vote on the June 05, 2018 ballot (August 02, 2016, CBS42, and, Associated Press (2017). Judge who gave Stanford rapist Brock Turner just six months in jail DEFENDS his decision in his first public statement. Daily Mail, Jul 01 2017.)
Judge Persky was recalled.
Ellen Kreitzberg, Law professor at Santa Clara University, describes the Persky intimidation tactic: it is meant to make judges "look over their shoulder" and "think twice" about issuing a controversial decision (Egelko, Bob (2018). Foes, backers of Judge Persky recall effort face off in debate. SFGate, Apr 20 2018.)
The contrast between the Persky case and other cases where the sex abuser was female reveals three absolute rules of feminist judicial practice:
  1. If the defendant is male be maximally harsh on him.
  2. If the defendant is female be maximally lenient on her.
  3. If you do not obey these rules, we will destroy you.
Side Note:
Where were the Feminists when Elaine Goodman, 46, pleaded guilty to raping a 13 year old boy: "He is so cute with a nice ass body." She was only given probation (Seamons, Kate (2017). Women raped boy, 13, with 'nice body,' gets probation. Daily Mail, Jan 13 2017.)
Where were they when Katy Perry kissed 19 year old Benjamin Glaze without notice or consent?(Enriquez, Justin (2018). 'I was saving it for someone special': American Idol contestant says Katy Perry stole his 'uncomfortable' first kiss. Daily Mail, Mar 14 2018). Or when she pulled down the pants of another male to show his genitals to others? (Dier, Arden (2019). 2 people accuse Katy Perry of sexual misconduct. Newser, Aug 16 2019.)
Where were they when Corine Audiat , 32, pleaded guilty to two felonies for having sex with a 16 year old male student? (Burke, Minyvonne (2018). Married gym teacher, 32, could AVOID jail for having sex with her student, 16, and sending him flirty text messages as part of a controversial plea deal. Daily Mail, Jan 04 2018.)
Joanne Elwel stalked her ex-boyfriend's new girlfriend for seven months, sending disturbing and abusive email, online messages and Facebook communication. Elwel admitted guilt in exchange for zero prison time. Were there any protests at all? You can guess the answer. (Boyle, Darren (2018). Mother-of-three, 39, who stalked her ex-boyfriend's new partner by setting up a Facebook hate group which she even invited her to join is spared jail. Daily Mail, Apr 17 2018.)
Kelsey McCarter (Bonner, David (2017). Coach's wife pleads guilty to statutory rape of player. Opposing Views, Sep 25 2017.)
Brianne Altice (Konstantinides, Annetta (2017). Utah teacher who had sex with three underage male students SOBS as she seeks parole-blaming her actions on 'self-esteem issues.' Daily Mail, Jan 25 2017.)
Molly Shattuck (Duncan, Ian (2015). Ex-Ravens cheerleader Molly Shattuck pleads guilty to rape. June 16, 2015. Baltimore Sun, and, Richman, Talia (2017). Molly Shattuck completes her sentence of 48 weekends for Delaware rape case. Baltimore Sun, Sep 19 2017.)
Danielle Adams (Woman sentenced to 2 months in jail for sex abuse of teen at Hillsboro youth shelter. Fox 12, Jul 07 2017.)
Christine McCallum (Campbell, Andy (2012). Christine McCallum sentenced to 29 months for sex with 13-year-old student. Huffington Post, Mar 28 2012.)
Where was the outrage over these lenient sentences?

2019.02.19 17:08 Cassandrasworld 🌍🍾🎤👗🤵 THE AMAZING DRAG RACE - EPISODE 3: The Irrelevant Gay Awards PART 3 🌍🍾🎤👗🤵

The scene returns to Erathelle and Sardonyx, ready to announce the winner of “Most likely to wear white in someone else’s wedding.
Well It’s time to announce the winner who is
ELLE CRIMSON Congratulations winner.

To the losers remember, being nominated is an honor itself, you just weren’t good enough.
Elle, slightly confused enters the stage.
“Wow. I’m just so honored to win the award for the category that basically means ‘always steals the spotlight’. And that's what I do best: steal light fixtures! No seriously check my basement it’s full of headlights and shit.
And actually, I was supposed to have a bit that if I won, I would re enact the scene in A Star Is Born where Lady Gaga wins an award and Bradley Cooper crashes the stage and pees himself but the friend who was supposed to be Bradley… can't find him. I wonder where he is.”
(Cut to a garage with a dog in front of it)
“Oh well. Thanks!”
(Elle leaves the stage, suddenly with a cart carrying a bunch of spotlights in it.)

Presenting the award for Most Likely to die first in a horror film, all the way from Asia, Samara and Sadako Elle Crimson and Anita Dragname!
Elle is dressed in a floor-length dress. It has an off shoulder neckline, trimmed with black ostrich feathers, her collarbone and above exposed, an assemblage of black pearls strung around her neck. She wears elbow length fingerless black gloves with her slick black coffin nails prominent. At the knee,a plume of black ostrich feathers flare out, acting as the mermaid bottom. A slit in the middle revealing her legs. She wears black stockings and a black slick pump. Her blonde hair is styled into a clean bun at the back of her head, two feathers jutting outward. Her lips are nude with a nude fishy look for her mug with a bold eyeliner.
Anita, however, is dressed in a flowy, ill-fitting white dress that hits the floor and then some. Her hair, along with the dress, is wet. Long, black and wet, her hair goes past her breasts at the front and barely touches her hips at the back. Her face is unusually white, and black mascara runs down her eyes, past her pale lips.
Anita walks out first, not knowing that Elle is scuttling slowly behind her.
Good evening everyone! Tonight, Elle and I are- (does a double take as she introduces Elle). ELEANOR JANE CRIMSON, I thought you said we were gonna come out as Asian ghosts!!!!
Well, one, Elle isn't short for Eleanor but for Ellexandra-
-what the fuck?-
Two, I thought I sent you a text to say we’re not doing it.
And three, I dressed for a funeral because something asian did die.
And what is that?
Our careers. Anyways, we’re here today to present the award of “Most likely to die first in a horror film”. How well do you think you would do in a horror film, Anita?
I don’t know, I’m not that bright, so I don’t think I’ll make it as the final girl.
Of course you won’t make it; movie monsters never make the end of the movie!
\eyeroll** Predictable.
Speaking of predictable, here we have the nominees for the category! First up, we have Kitty! Hmm, bizarre choice.
Why is that?
Well, because it seems like the only thing capable of offing her, is herself!
That seems a bit shady. Don’t worry, we love you, Quitty - I MEAN, KITTY. Kitty, Kitty, Kitty. Speaking of overgrown pussies, we have Skarlet Diamond!
Skarlet Diamond, Ruby Jubilee… These girls sure are fans of shades of red. Familiar, right?
Yeah, Elle! Really famili-
Okay, back to me: why is she a pussy, Anita?
Well, she once told me she doesn’t talk to us cause she’s scared. But I don’t blame her, looking at the cast out of drag, I would be too.
Really? That sucks; I would have loved to get to know her before she gets eliminated this week.
Well, she seems to be the frontrunner for this category though.
Which is weird, cause if she were in the front, I would see her. Maybe she already got killed?
Ugh, of course! So ahead of the curb!
And also with nominees like Kitty and the other one, it’s not so hard to be the frontrunner! You just have to wait a few episodes and poof! Following in the steps of RDR legends and they’re gone in a blink!
And our final nominee - insert last and least joke here - Sardonyx!
Named after a diamond, which is fitting because that face is a rock. And her personality’s just like one too.
But you know, diamonds are just really pretty rocks. And Sardonyx is just really pretty… ugly. And I think she could very well handle herself in a stressful horror movie situation. Maybe the reason we don't see her a lot is because she’s hiding from psychos!
Or maybe she’s the psycho, tag-teamming with Annie since they both have NSFW plastered over their profile pics.
Not the only tag-teamming they’ve done.
\both girls shudder**
Anyways, at least she won’t Kitty - I MEAN, quit. Alright, so….
The girl that would most likely die first in a horror movie is……..
“Wait?” Who are you, Bianca presenting a twist or during a finale or talking to her contestants when they ask about a finale? What’s up?
We forgot a nominee!
Did we?..... I don't remember.
You know, Her Majesty, Claudette. We forgot her!
I think we all did. Most likely to die first in a horror movie is

The Queen enters the stage, ready to accept her award.
“I mean, I would probably die of food poisoning, but still accurate. I wanna thank my mom for making me dumb enough to qualify for thee tittle. I wanna thank my dad for going to buy milk, it’s taking a while but I’m here waiting.”

[Skarlet and Kitty walk on stage. They both appear to be wearing the same dress. They’re both wearing elaborately bedazzled gold gowns. The dresses fit snugly at the top, and flare out at the bottom, a classic mermaid silhouette. The are also wearing opera length sequined gloves of the same gold color. The both have a deep maroon ostrich feather boa draped upon their forearms. The ladies’ makeup is sexy and elegant, with sharply contoured cheeks, a rich dark red lip, and deep, smokey eyeshadow. Their wigs are in tight, shoulder length brunette waves with a maroon feather fascinator to match their boas. They are visibly upset with each other and their mouths are tightly clenched.]
Hello and Good Evening!
We obviously didn’t plan for this but-
[The two girls pause and give each other a look that could pierce hard rock]
Stop copying me!
[They both stop again and Kitty slaps Skarlet as hard as she can. Skarlet punches her in the left tit and a full on cat fight ensues. After many broken nails and bloody tucks, they go to rip each others wigs off. Kitty’s 2nd wig is a long, straight, and sexy platinum blonde wig that she has on just in case a bitch wants to get violent. Skarlet’s wig is pulled off and underneath is a disheveled mess; oily streaky dark boy hair, with a birds nest and half of a hard boiled egg she has in there if a bitch gets hungry. They rip off the others girls dresses after that. Kitty has on a sexy set of black lace lingerie a naughty little garter belt. Skarlet has on a raggedy old set of granny panties and bra, with a mysterious stain on it. The two girls stop fighting and try to continue.]
[Kitty:] least we’re not wearing the same thing anymore…
Good, I couldn’t handle another minute of THAT embarrassment. I’m happy to be in something a little more comfortable.
[Kitty is clearly shocked and appalled]
Anyways, we are here to present the award for “most likely to be an alt”, Kitty would you like to explain what that means to the audience?
Of course! Being an alt is when you compete once already and create a whole new account and pretend to be someone new! It’s very common around here and it’s banned, but that ain’t stopping some of these shady ladies…
[A loud shout comes from Cass’s direction in the audience] “Desdemona for life!!”
“Let’s get in to the nominations for ‘Most likely to be an alt!”
“First up we have Alexa! The most suspicious one here on ‘Cassandra’s Extension Race!’ Could it be true that Alexa is an alt this season? Alexa, play ‘Dude look like a lady’ by Aerosmith!”
“Second up, we have Elle Crimson! She once had an alt and went under the name Priestly Borden, now she’s just a beastly burden! Will she be the one snatching up this award?
“Next up is Erathelle! This sassy yet sweet diva robbed us of our hearts the minute we seen her! Kinda like how she believes that she was robbed on episode one! Is it possible that she could be an alt?”
“And finally we have Sardonyx!
[The audience is silent with the exception of a loud yawn from the front of the audience and a faint Boo! from the back]
Haha well at least she’s ummm….nice… let’s just say that. Now, let’s find who is going to win this award!
[Skarlet stands there in a deep trance next to Kitty, munching on the boiled egg she had in her wig]
[Kitty elbows Skarlet in the side and she drops her egg]
Hey! I was eating tha-! Oops my bad, carry on!
“The moment you have all been waiting for! Most likely to be an alt is
ALEXA Condragulations Alexa!...Alexa?...Hello girl are you there? Well….haha this has never happened before...umm...well we should’ve known she wouldn’t have been here. She was barely there to help Annie with the submission!
Alexa finally enters the stage.
Wow I won the only category I was nominated which was obviously rigged for me. I’d like to thank Cassandra for making this category so I can feel like a winner, since I haven’t won anything. I’d like to thank Anita for forgetting I exist but I don’t blame her, I forget I exist too and of course my fellow contestants for voting me, in fact I am actually an alt. An alt you weren’t expecting.
Alexa wipes her makeup off revealing herself to be Caprice Sun
Yes its m-
Security rush into the room dragging Alexa away.

Annie’s Look: Annie is wearing a recreation of Cassandra’s “Worst Fears” runway. Her entire body (legs, face, large breastplate) is covered in chocolate faux curly brown bear fur, and is mangled into intense mange in some spots from constant weather wear. These mangled spots gradiate to a greenish blue mold color from the hair being knotted and thick in these spots. She has two dull black diamonds over her eyes that appear eerily still as she moves. She has long, sharp, black claw nails that protrude out from her fur covered hands. These claws are chipped slightly, but still maintain their black allure with red blood tinges underneath. Her eyelashes are extra large around the eye diamonds, and there is a single red diamond on her one long underlash on each eye. She is also wearing a chocolate brown wig (no highlights) that gradiates to the same shade of moldy green/blue with moss texturizing the large hairpiece in various spaces. Her shoes are red bottomed high heels, that have an assortment of red beading that hangs from the bottoms, but do not hit the floor. These high heels are also covered in the brown bear fur with the toe points gradiating to the green/blue shade. Annie’s body has various cuts where her skin is exposed, but all that is seen is red mangled scar tissue. These cuts coincide with the stabs of Cassandra in her original outfit. This coupled with the blank eyes, and the human sized mange bear create an overall menacing effect as she walks on stage with a blank expression.
Alexa’s Look:
Alexa is wearing a carbon copy of Cassandra's disastrous Hometown promo look/s (because for some reason Cassandra wore two looks). For her first look she is wearing an inflatable globe with the continent of Australia in the centre of her crotch area (I'm not lying, Cassandra actually wrote this). She holds a worn out pink purse on one hand and a half empty bottle of vodka in her other. To continue the Cassandra impersonation, Alexa's mug is rough and her five o clock shadow is showing, she wears way too much blush on her cheeks, her contour is poorly blended showing some streaks and unevenness and her yellow eyeshadow is patchy and poorly blended. The second look is a ruveal and will be seen in the segment below.
*Alexa rolls into the runway with Annie by her side pushing her along to help her out. As they reach the centre, Alexa drops her purse and struggles to bend down to pick it up without falling over. She gives up and and kicks the purse out of the stage as Annie mumbles “It’s fake Chanel anyway”.*
Thank you Skarlet and Kitty Kouture for that interesting performance.
*Alexa’s tone comes to a point on “interesting” as she winces*
Oh honey, didn’t you hear? It’s just Kitty now! But you’re right! Who would’ve thought a bitch and a pussy would be such an iconique duo?
*Annie throws her hands out at “Oh, honey” than places her hand on Alexa’s forearm as if spilling the t as she says “who would've thought…”*
Really? I guess she cut the kouture part around the same time her fashion did…
*Alexa stands with ONLY her right hand like this and a has a perplexed face for a moment*
And I think we’re a pretty unique duo as well! Our relationship is like Forrest Gump and the strangers he talked to at the bus stop
*Alexa walks forward with hands opening in front of her as if imagining the scene with a bright dreamy smile on her face. Annie’s hand falls from Alexa’s shoulder as she does this*
Ya know.. You’re right!! But this time, life isn’t like a box of chocolates,
*Annie holds one finger*
it's like Adam Richman/ attempting to devour a pile of hot spicy sausages in under 30 minutes, rewarding at the start
*Annie turns so her smiling face is above Alexa’s left shoulder as she says “rewarding at…*
but a shitfest at the end
*Annie pops back up above Alexa’s right shoulder with a exasperated face of disgust and crossed eyes as she says this.*
Speaking of shitfests, and don’t worry, I don’t mean your prolapsed asshole video Annie!
We’re here to announce the nominees for the Worst Drag Submissions so far starting with… Well you girl!
*Alexa leans backwards and cuts her eyes at Annie*
*quickly blushes with embarrassment than moves on*
Hm… Interesting. I love how Anita nominated the queens who won challenges previously. I guess when you know you can’t win the crown you aim for Miss C!
I guess you would know all about that miss 9th place All star. Anyway! Our next nominee, hailing all the way from Romania, it’s Erathelle!
*Smiles extra large while looking forward after Alexa’s read*
Ahh, yes! You know, not everyone would understand this nomination. But Era revealed the other day that she doesn’t quite understand emotions and how to show them.
After reading a few of her submissions, I’m starting to wonder if she can’t understand comedy & fashion either?
*Annie purses her lips at the end of the sentence with her hand in a duck shape looking semi confused*
That actually makes sense. That reminds me of another queen actually… Charlie Hides? Her moves are as bad as hers anyway. And she almost quit like Charlie kinda did… It’s all coming together.
This next Queens submissions have made me gag more than Johnny Rapid at a Czech Glory hole, it's Anita Dragname!
Anita Dragname? More like Anita check my heritage because her grammar brings dishonour to her family.
Well unlike you she can turn a look, and has finished a season. So gotta give her props for that.
Oh, I can’t turn a look Miss Annie?
*Alexa takes off her globe to ruveal Cassandra's second promo look on S3, a yellow latex leotard with the bright red Vegemite logo on her chest.*
As one of the most revered drag queens in the world once said… “Got it. Still underwhelming.”
*Annie says this as she posts her finger in the air as if finding the words*
Our final nominee is a controversial French version of Katya whose looks have angered some Queens.
*Alexa looks intrigued at the t on the last line*
*Cough* Erathelle *Cough*
*Annie fakes coughing*
For someone who doesn’t get emotions, she sure shows her anger enough huh? Anyway, this let’s have Madem have this moment since you stole it in All Stars. Clap for this hooker everyone!
*Alexa stars a clap in the room*
*Mademoiselle waves to the audience*
Stop waving you shouldn't be proud.
And the winner of worst submission so far is…. Cassandra for these outfits we had to recreate! Bitch do you know how hard it was to make coutour out of cou-don’t? Ladies, isn’t it crazy our host placed lower than half of us? I’m just saying…
Anyway, the real winner is

The girl enters the stage.
Thank you so much, everyone. I would especially like to thank my parents for birthing me, my sugar daddy for this laptop and Erathelle for ghostwriting my submissions. She REALLY knows how to write a shitty submission, but is kind enough to let me take the credit. Love you girl! \winks and blows a kiss at Erathelle**

That’s it everyone! I’d like to take this moment to close the show and thank everyone for attending! Cass, you may unlock the exit doors now so the crowd that’s collected at the back from Skarlet & Kitty’s performance can leave now! Thank you, goodnight!

As the show draws to a close, the girls all head back to the main-stage to receive their placements and critiques.
“Ladies I’ve made my decision” Cassandra begins. “We all agreed that were was an obvious winner for this challenge.
Erathelle and Sardonyx”

“Condragulations you are the winners of this weeks challenge.”

The girls jump for joy.
“You may leave the stage.”

“The rest of you will be judged . . . separately. Lets start by alphabetical order with Alexa
Hello Doll, now first off I’d like to congratulate you for putting effort on this week’s challenge compared to last week’s fiasco. Your jokes were okay, particularly your Adam Richman joke that was a good laugh, you wrote enough content with your partner and cooperated with them which is a huge chunk of this challenge. HOWEVER, I do feel as if you could’ve written a lot more instead of leaving Annie to fix your mistakes. I also feel as if you’re holding back, you were hilarious on episode 1 when you didn’t have to and now that its a comedy challenge you seem to be hiding something. This was evidently seen on your winning speech, I’m not gonna sugarcoat it but it was a mess. It was unfunny, boring and felt too rushed. You’ve mentioned before how you were struggling in your personal life and I do respect your decision to keep that private from everyone else, lord knows I’m like Trisha Paytas crying on the sub when something bad happens but you just have to open yourself up more with everyone else and let loose. Its tough being a new girl around an established sub but you gotta at least try.
Hey girls. I liked your set, you had a bit of a different take than the other girls did so good job on that. What I loved most was the unexpected. I never knew what was coming next, BUT you kept to the award speech format very well. Main critique: Layout and page formatting. Yours was brute ugly, and whilst it shouldn’t matter much all your judges are anal retentive gays that do care, even if just subconsciously.
Liked the exit speeches. On both of you. Other judges didn’t liked yours Alexa, but I enjoyed it.
Again, just like with Annie, I really didn’t care for your look, especially since yours was an exact copy, and I didn’t care for the reveal. Your performance fell into the same realm as Annie’s, in that the jokes were just missing a lot. The winning speech felt like a copout, you just went straight to agag rather than using the actual speech to make us laugh. I know this is one of your first comedy challenges, so I hope you can use these notes to improve for future challenges.

“Next up is Anita Dragname
Cassandra: Now you got to play with the power position this week by nominating the girls in each category, pairing them together and putting them in order. Where you successful? Yes. You managed to fuck over a lot of teams but nearly fucked yourself over. You were smart to pick Elle as your partner since both of you have worked together in the past but you positioned yourself right after Erathelle and Sardonyx who also have a history together and managed to knock this challenge out of the park. You placed yourself in a difficult position on trying to outdo their performance which failed for me. You played the bitchy girls for this challenge but you forgot the most important part about being a bitchy girl - the fun. Bitchy girls pick on other people’s flaws making it both shocking and funny but I felt like you were just nitpicking and beating around the bush instead of actually trying to make fun of them what you needed to do was to let go and have some fun throwing shade instead of trying to be a bitch. Camp it up a little and let go of the fashionista side in you. Overall the submission just dragged on for me and I was getting a bit bored but you rudeemed yourself with your winning speeches, both were funny which was what I wanted to see on this challenge.
Hey girls. This week was another great turn out. You two were real workhorses and pumped out a lot of good comedy. One critique: submission length. This week you wrote a long submission, and while making the 2.5 pages helped make this submission feel strong and fully realised, by the time it got to 4 pages I was thinking - this would have been better if they had just reduced it down and kept the good jokes. Nothing bombed in this set, but I think I would have preferred just the strongest jokes.
Oh and acceptance speeches: stunning, hilarious, beautiful. Both of you. Really nice comedy. Good work.
Anita, I loved the concept of your look for the award show, I would’ve liked it to just been a bit more formal. Everyone looked so gorgeous, and you really stood out, but I would’ve liked it to be cleaned up a bit. You did well with presenting the award, but the fighting on stage was predictable to me. Changing for your acceptance speeches was unrealistic, but the speeches themselves were fine. Overall, I think that out of everyone, your duo was the one I remembered the least about, but you also didn’t bomb so that’s good.

Next up we have Annie Depressant!
Looking at the chat with Alexa it looks like your idea was to dress up as me. Although I’m flattered it felt like an Alexis Michelle “I wore your favorite colour girl” moment. It was a bit unnecessary and didn’t really tie in as a joke. A lot of the stuff you wrote in terms of jokes were quite funny, it was okay at the most but I felt like you could’ve done more. This critique is pretty much for nearly every girl here but I could see you continuing the joke instead of rushing to the next one in some cases. The little interactions you wrote massively improved the entire submission as they brought life to them and made us understand what you two were going off of. What really helped you was your speeches. I thought they were quite funny and enjoyable. Overall it was a safe performance but this must feel like a win for you from what I’ve heard about your comedy performances. Good job.
Hi Annie! So, wasn’t really a fan of you and Alexa wearing copies of Cassandra’s looks, it never really came into play and just felt totally unnecessary. Your performance...I wasn’t really a fan of. The constant stage directions, I’m not sure whose decision that was, but it completely threw off the flow of the presentation, and I just didn’t enjoy it. Having so many of them wasn’t necessary. Most of the jokes also flatlined for me, they came off really bitchy. The same goes for your winning speeches, the attempts at jokes missed there.

“Next girl to be judged is Claudette
I was disappointed to see that you didn’t help Madem out this week because I felt like you two could’ve really worked together to create something fun and fresh and thats what the submission needed. I understand completely that you are went through something really tough this week so I’ll let this one slide and pretend it didn’t happen and that I’m not disappointed for now but I do expect you to turn it out next week like I know you can.

“Next up we have Elle Crimson
Pretty much have the same thing to say with Anita, the performance was more bitchy than funny. Don’t get me wrong you had some genuinely funny moments but It needed more life and sassiness to it, bitchy girls tend to have a certain sass and flair when they read a girl to filth and this didn’t really have it. The submission just dragged on for me and it got quite boring and sorta reminded me of Farrah Moan’s Michelle Visage roast. However, for me you did rudeem yourself in your speeches. I did watch the clip you asked me to so I got the reference lmao. Overall everything was okay and just needed a bit more jushing up.
Good work.
Just like with Anita, I wasn’t a fan of you changing in between the presentation and the acceptance speech, it’s just not realistic to me. You looked stunning however, and did satisfactory in the challenge. You hit a few jokes, had some nice lines, but like I said Anita, nothing really stood out too much about your performance tonight. It was what I was expecting going into this challenge.

“This is taking too long lmao, we have Kitty
Cass: I’m disappointed this week on hearing that you didn’t help Skarlet out in this challenge. I know you two sound like a weird duo but I genuinely thought you could’ve knocked this one out of the park. You two have proven to be funny, especially last week and you two have something that the other needs to create a great submission. Your comedy is very referential, referencing this sub, pop culture and drag race while Skarlet sticks to traditional comedy on trying to make you laugh with different gimmicks and I was really excited with what the two of you would’ve created. You gave this to me in your winning speeches which I found hilarious and made me laugh out loud but it made me feel disappointed at the end, you definitely could’ve placed amongst the top 3 this week because your speeches were strong but you faltered at the main challenge of the week. Overall I do feel like you have so much untapped potential and I still do feel like you have what it takes to prove everyone that you are fierce.
Hi Kitty. I would have loved you to have contributed to the main submission this episode. That said, your acceptance speeches were clever. Writing reactions and imagery really brought it to life. Execution was an A++, and you always bring great personality. Keep this up and I think you could be in with a shot to win this whole competition. As always my main critique is just more more more. I want to see you do more of the submissions because your work is good.
I wasn’t too impressed with you tonight. From what I’ve been told, you didn’t contribute to the presentation of your award, which is unfortunate. And as for the winning speeches, the physical comedy felt like a bit of a copout to me. I hope to see you step it up if you make it through this week.

“Next is Mademoiselle
Now this week I thought you did pretty okay. Not too good but not too bad, just like a lot of the other girls here your jokes had potential. They had meaning and they could’ve landed better had you developed them more or wrote out more interactions. It felt like you kept on switching jokes before continuing with them and you just needed that to pull it all together. You did have to do this submission by yourself without much help so I can’t say anything too bad compared to the girls. Had you gotten better help with this challenge I do feel as if you could’ve faired better since the potential was there. Your winning speeches were funny and enjoyable which was what rudeemed you, Overall this was an okay week for you but I’m hoping to see you slay again like you did on Miss Runiverse.
Hi Madem. First of all, kudos to you for getting up a clean submission with no help from your partner. Very professionally done. Madem, you are a funny person and you writing funny well. This submission didn’t land for me. The jokes were well researched and you took a variety of different jabs. BUT, you seem to have a fondness of “breaking script” in character. I’m not sure if it’s a bit you are trying to do, but it doesn’t land for me. Your jokes felt weakened by having to go off script and fly into a shrieking fit to make them. If you could tone it down and deliver realistic yet funny speeches the jokes would seem more clever, and land better. For this reason, my favourite jokes were those made at the very start, and in your Snapped category win speech. Not a bad job this week, it’s just frustrating watching you obstruct yourself.
Well...Madem, given your circumstances, you did fine I guess? I wasn’t really entertained, rather bored actually, but it’s difficult to write back and forths when you’re the only one doing anything. Your individual material was adequate though. The look was very simple but stunning, honestly perfect for the occasion. You looked beautiful tonight. The winning speeches were solid, I don’t have a lot to say there.

“Lastly we have Skarlet
You were in the same boat as Mademoiselle this week on having an inactive partner and it did show in your submission. I was a bit disappointed since you’ve been slaying the season so far but it wasn’t entirely your fault. This challenge honestly would’ve put any new girl at a disadvantage since its about roasting your fellow competitors, Most of them have a long history with each other while you’re still fresh and new. You needed Kitty to contribute to this because I felt like you could’ve done so much better. You had potential in your submission, it was fun and quirky but just needed that 2nd opinion. Overall this was an okay week for you but I do hope to see you slay again.
Hey Skarlet. Good job this week fish. You ran some off-beat comedy and I ate it up. First read was a little wild, but your humour was smart and meta-textual and meaty. I think the formatting of your outfits section was a little clunky, I’d try varying that up. It started you on a confusing note, but as soon as you started revealing to new outfits I was there. You had this level of whimsy I wasn’t expecting, great work.
Hey Skarlet! Like Madem, you were kind of alone this week, and unfortunately it showed just like it did for her. The initial looks you chose were very stunning, but most of the presentation fell flat for me, and I really wasn’t a fan of the physical fight. Also, for future reference, writing to the audience is a big no for a lot of judges, you want to excel solely based off what you present by yourself. Your wedding winning speech was nice, but the horror one dragging on for so long wasn’t my cup of tea.

As the critiques section to draw to an end, Cathe finally decides to speak up.
“Yeah, yeah. Erathelle and Sardonyx Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, showstopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique” She then continues to the other girls ‘the rest idgaf they bombed.
“Thank you for your wise words Cathe.” Cassandra says “Now ladies I’ve made my decision. This week, we’ll be having an 8 way lipsy-”
Del, still traumatized by Reddit’s Rising Stars 7 way lipsync tugs on Cass’s sleeve while shaking her head.
“Okay fine.” Cassandra sighs “Anita Dragname, Elle Crimson, Mademoiselle, Annie Depressant and Skarlet Diamond

“You are all safe. You may leave the stage.”
The girls are all ushered away.
“Claudette, due to your lack of work this week you are in the bottom”
“Alexa, you helped your partner but bombed your winning speech.”
“Kitty, you didn’t help your partner but did well in your speeches.”

Alexa you are safe BUT I’m going to give you a warning, if I see a subpar submission from you next week you are automatically placed in the bottom 2 so work it out.
Alexa nods and leaves the stage.
Ladies, tonight you will be lipsyncing to “Touch by Little Mix” Good luck and don’t fuck it up.
Congratulations to Erathelle and Sardonyx! Good luck to Kitty and Claudette. Your lipsyncs are due on February 22 at 11:59pm

TRUMP to rollback some of Obama’s Cuba policies -- FIRST IN PLAYBOOK: Kellyanne complains about West Wing colleagues -- REMEMBERING Zbig Brzezinski -- ASHCROFT hired by Qatar -- KATY TUR profile – B’DAY: Zeleny
by [email protected] (Daniel Lippman) via POLITICO - TOP Stories
Good Saturday morning. THE BELMONT STAKES is 6:37 p.m. tonight on NBC.
WEHEAR … PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP is going to roll back some of Barack Obama’s changes to Cuba policy next week. He discussed the changes at a dinner with members of Congress earlier this week -- the dinner included Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, who was sharply critical of Obama’s policy change. The White House didn’t respond to a request for comment, but Marc Caputo and Sergio Bustos -- our POLITICO colleagues in Florida -- report he’ll make the announcement in Miami and also note: “Many expect that Trump will not reverse Obama’s decision to open a U.S. embassy in Havana or reinstate the ‘wet-foot/dry-foot’ policy that allowed Cuban immigrants who touched U.S. shores to become legal residents.”
YOUR DAILY HEAD SNAP -- “Trump seems to undercut Tillerson’s remarks on Qatar,” by WaPo’s Karen DeYoung and Sudarsan Raghavan: “Secretary of State Rex Tillerson called on a Saudi Arabia-led bloc of Arab nations Friday to immediately ease their blockade of Qatar and urged all involved in the week-long Persian Gulf dispute to quickly resolve their differences, remarks that President Trump seemed to undercut less than an hour later.
“Trump began a Rose Garden news conference with the visiting president of Romania by saying that the Saudi-led action against Qatar was ‘hard but necessary.’ He said he had been consulted in advance by nations that ‘spoke to me about confronting Qatar,’ a country he said historically has been a ‘funder of terrorism at a very high level.’ He said he had decided, along with Tillerson and ‘our great generals and military people, the time had come to call on Qatar to end that funding ... and its extremist ideology.’
“Earlier, in a brief, formal statement at the State Department, Tillerson had called on Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt to ease their blockade, warning that it was causing humanitarian hardship in Qatar, harming U.S. and international business, and hindering U.S. military actions against the Islamic State.”
-- ANOTHER STRANGE MOMENT from Friday’s press conference withTRUMP and Romanian President Klaus Iohannis. REPORTER: “Thank you. Mr. President, were there any discussion about the Visa Waiver Program for Romania? Is there a time frame for including our country in this program? Thank you.” TRUMP: “We didn’t discuss it --” IOHANNIS: “Yes --”TRUMP: “We didn’t discuss it. But there would be certainly -- it would be something we will discuss. Mr. President.” IOHANNIS: “I mentioned this issue, and I also mentioned it during other meetings I had, because this is important for us, it's important for Romanians who want to come to the United States. And you see more and more people come, President Trump, from Romania to the United States. Some come as tourists. Some come for business. And those who come for business should be encouraged.”
FOR MARC KASOWITZ -- “James Comey is a ‘leaker’ — but that doesn’t make him a criminal,” by WaPo’s Matt Zapotosky: “‘He can fairly be criticized for whether that was the best way for him to address his discomfort with his conversation with the president,’ said Barry J. Pollack, a white-collar criminal-defense attorney at Miller & Chevalier who has been involved in leak cases. ‘But that’s all a matter of how he conducts his job, and what his relationship is with the president is not a legal question.’
“Prosecutors who bring charges against people for sharing informationwith the public can do so only when classified or other national security material is at issue. Material cannot be classified to conceal legal violations or prevent embarrassment, according to an executive order from President Barack Obama. Telling a reporter nonclassified information of public interest is not only legal, but it’s often the right thing to do.”
-- JOSH GERSTEIN: “The FBI’s standard employment agreement reads: ‘I will not reveal, by any means, any information or material from or related to FBI files or any other information acquired by virtue of my official employment to any unauthorized recipient without prior official written authorization by the FBI.’”
-- A DEFIANT TRUMP, via Julie Hirschfeld Davis and Glenn Thrush: “President Trump on Friday accused James B. Comey, the fired F.B.I. director, of lying under oath to Congress, saying he would gladly provide sworn testimony disputing Mr. Comey’s charge that the president forced him out because of his handling of the investigation into the Trump campaign’s possible collusion with Russia. … Asked whether he would be willing to provide his version under oath, Mr. Trump responded, ‘100 percent.’ He said of Mr. Mueller, ‘I would be glad to tell him exactly what I just told you.’”
-- WHAT’S NEXT: “Comey associate has been in contact with Senate Judiciary about memos,” by Kyle Cheney: “Dan Richman, a longtime friend and adviser to former FBI director James Comey, has been in contact with the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding a series of memos that Comey authored about his private conversations with President Donald Trump from January through April. A source familiar with the discussions says Richman connected with the Senate panel via the office of special counsel Robert Mueller ... The source says the matter will be addressed on Monday.”
-- BLOCKBUSTER RATINGS: “More than 19 million saw Comey testimony on TV,” by Hadas Gold: “According to Nielsen ratings, ABC topped all networks, bringing in 3.295 million overall viewers, with CBS close behind with 3.286 million viewers. Fox News was next with 3.096 million viewers, followed by CNN with 3.049 million, NBC with 2.723 million viewers and MSNBC with 2.719 million viewers. ... Twitter, which partnered with Bloomberg to stream the hearing, said 2.7 million viewers tuned in.”
--PER FACEBOOK: There were 89 million views of videos related to Comey’s testimony. Those videos had nearly 8 million comments, reactions and shares. There were also 26 million views of Comey-related live video on Facebook.
ABOUT THOSE TAPES [email protected]: “Personal anecdote: Candidate Trump once said he had taped a call with me, after disputing how he was quoted. I asked to hear it. Never did.” … @mikiebarb replies: “This happened to me as well. He always acted as if he was recording it.”
THROWING SHADE -- @lloydblankfein: “Just landed from China, trying to catch up.... How did ‘infrastructure week’ go?”
FIRST IN PLAYBOOK -- WHO MNUCHIN MET WITH IN CANADA –Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin made his first official solo foreign trip yesterday to Canada. Mnuchin, who met with Canadian Finance Minister Bill Morneau on the one-day trip to Ottawa, was seeking to highlight the importance of the U.S.-Canada strategic and economic alliance, according to Treasury. Deputy national security advisor Dina Powell and Treasury chief of staff Eli Miller accompanied Mnuchin. They also met Canadian foreign minister Chrystia Freeland, Canadian Ambassador to the U.S. David Mac Naughton and attended a cabinet meeting with top ministers. They discussed a variety of topics including the upcoming G-20 agenda, trade and economic issues and national security challenges. Mnuchin also met with a group of more than 20 CEOs who do business in both the U.S. and Canada, including the heads of Ford Canada, GE Canada and TD Bank. More foreign trips by Mnuchin are in the works, according to our Treasury source.
DAVID A. FAHRENTHOLD in WaPo, “New York attorney general ‘looking into’ Eric Trump’s foundation”: “New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is ‘looking into’ a charitable foundation founded by Eric Trump, a spokesman for Schneiderman said, after Forbes magazine raised questions about whether President Trump’s son had made misleading statements about how the foundation spent its money. ... One item at issue, the attorney general’s office said, was that the Eric Trump Foundation has rebranded itself ‘Curetivity’ and held a fundraiser under that name. But, after a query from The Washington Post on Friday morning, the attorney general’s office said the charity had not officially changed its name with New York charity regulators.”
ROMNEYSTOCK – ALEX ISENSTADT’S HARDSHIP ASSIGNMENT to Deer Valley, Utah: “Romney reveals that Clinton nudged him to consider Trump’s secretary of state overture”: “Romney, appearing before a group of major Republican Party donors here, said that he reached out to Clinton last year after getting a phone call from then-Vice President-elect Mike Pence informing him that he was on the shortlist for secretary of state. ... Romney ... was golfing in Hawaii when he received the call ... He then turned to former secretaries of state, including the just-defeated Clinton, to ask whether he should consent to the offer. ‘In each case, each of them said, “Please, please take that job if it’s offered to you. We’d very much like to see you serve in that capacity,”’ Romney said.”
--“Biden encourages 2012 foe Romney to run for the Senate”: “During a closed-door appearance with Romney here on Friday evening, Biden said Romney should consider a Senate bid. The remark came during the second day of the E2 Summit, an annual Romney-hosted donor conference. Attendees were gathered to hear a dialogue between the two men, who were on opposite sides of the 2012 election. Romney, according to two sources present, offered little by way of response other than to smile. ... There has been considerable speculation that Romney may seek the seat of longtime Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch should he forego reelection. Neither Romney ... nor his aides have denied interest in the seat should it become open.”
MITCH MCCONNELL’S LATEST HEADACHE -- “Conservatives near revolt on Senate health care negotiations,” by Burgess Everett: “As Obamacare repeal talks enter crunchtime with a vote as soon as this month, the Senate bill continues to tilt toward more moderate members of the GOP on keeping some of Obamacare's regulatory structure and providing a more generous wind-down of the law's Medicaid expansion. The movement has made Republicans increasingly pessimistic that two critical conservative senators, Mike Lee of Utah and Rand Paul of Kentucky, will be able to vote for the GOP's ultimate agreement on healthcare, according to senators and aides.”
COMING ATTRACTIONS -- “Trump Will Meet With Tech Leaders To Talk About Emerging Tech Like Drones,” by BuzzFeed’s Ryan Mac: “The White House is planning a second gathering of technology leaders later this month, in which President Donald Trump is expected to meet with venture capitalists and entrepreneurs from emerging tech firms. Three sources confirmed to BuzzFeed News that the Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) is organizing the event, scheduled for June 22 — three days after Trump is expected to meet with the likes of Apple CEO Tim Cook, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Oracle co-CEO Safra Catz and technology executives in Washington. ... [T]he second meeting ... will address emerging technologies trends including the Internet of Things, commercial drones and the funding of those companies.”
REMEMBERING ZBIGNIEW BRZEZINSKI -- “Washington Remembers Brzezinski, and a Very Different Era,” by NYT’s Matt Flegenheimer: “One after another, the mourners filed into the stately Cathedral of St. Matthew -- ambassadors, cabinet secretaries, television hosts, a president -- hunkering together behind the grand doors, at least for a little while, to consider a man and a capital from a bygone political moment most seemed to prefer. The occasion was the funeral of Zbigniew Brzezinski ... ‘He was a realistic optimist,’ one eulogizer, the former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, said of Mr. Brzezinski, recalling his commitment to human rights, his belief in the power of considered diplomacy and his fierce wariness of Russia. The crowd nodded. ... [F]or two hours on Friday, the city’s beleaguered establishment seemed to revel in a collective embrace, capping a week in which it rallied to defend some treasured Washington traditions -- congressional oversight, the independence of the F.B.I. -- in the face of persistent executive chaos.”
-- Hundreds of people attended the funeral, at St. Matthew’s Roman Catholic Cathedral in Washington. President Jimmy Carter, Madeline Albright, John Hamre, and Ian, Mark and Mika Brzezinski all gave remarks. Albright read a note from John Kerry and Hamre read a note from Henry Kissinger. SPOTTED: Jonathan Capehart, Chris Licht, Robin Wright, Andrew Schwartz, Al Hunt, Bob Gates, Ambassadors from Finland, China, Japan, Sweden, Italy, and UAE, Carl Bernstein, Kathy Kemper, Maureen Orth, Bob Schieffer, Margaret Carlson, Boyden Gray, Katty Kay, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Susan Rice, Chuck Todd, Ernest Moniz, and Margaret Warner.
TRUMP’S WEEKEND -- The president is at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey. PENCE is in Milwaukee, where he’ll talk to small businesses with Gov. Scott Walker and give a speech about Obamacare. He’ll return to D.C. and speak at the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s Patriot’s Gala.
-- @rchammond: “The President has announced his intent to nominate Eric Ueland of Oregon to serve as Under Secretary of State for Management. @StateDept”. Ueland is Republican staff director of the Senate Budget Committee, worked on the Trump transition and earlier in his career was chief of staff to former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist.
-- FIRST IN PLAYBOOK: FROM HADAS GOLD: KELLYANNE CONWAY was overheard Thursday night talking about her West Wing co-workers to fellow revelers at a party. Conway was having an off-the-record conversation with a group of reporters and other attendees at the British Embassy at their election-night watch party. She said President Donald Trump told her to “go out there and say ‘Jim Comey is going to have to wait and see about the tapes.’”
“I mean, that’s basically the same thing as ‘no comment,’” she said. Conway also mimicked Reince Priebus urging White House aides to stop leaking, and wondered aloud what Marc Short -- the legislative director -- does all day. She also said she is “the one catching the slings and arrows in the West Wing.” The source who heard Conway created a Twitter account about the evening, naming it @kellyanneleaks and posting photos and tweets from the event. Two other sources confirmed Conway’s remarks.
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said Conway disputed the account, explaining that she is very close to Short. Spicer said Conway was not mocking Priebus, but rather reporters for palace intrigue stories “and how wrong they’ve been.” Spicer disputed that Conway had pushed back on the presidents request on how to comment about Comey, saying that she was simply explaining what the lawyers said the White House can say.
JOHN ASHCROFT’S FIRM HIRED BY QATAR – “Singled Out by Trump, Qatar Hires Former Top Law Man to Lobby,” by Bloomberg’s Bill Allison: “Qatar hired Ashcroft Law Firm, LLC for 90 days, agreeing to pay it $2.5 million to help the Persian Gulf nation comply with U.S. money laundering and counterterrorism financing regulations and to stress its efforts to combat global terrorism, according to disclosures filed under the Foreign Agents Registration Act. ... The contract cites the ‘urgent need to commence work immediately’ which will be ‘a top priority’ for the firm. ...
“Aschroft’s firm promised to provide crisis response and management, program and system analysis, media outreach and advocacy, stressing Qatar’s efforts to combat global terror, according to the contract. As part of that effort, the firm plans ‘a comprehensive legal and government relations strategy,’ one that will communicate broadly and to ‘certain domestic agencies and leaders.’”
WHAT DAN SCAVINO IS READING -- “Inside The Chaotic Battle To Be The Top Reply To A Trump Tweet,” by BuzzFeed’s Charlie Warzel: “[S]econds after the president sounds off to his 31 million-plus followers, he’s bombarded with replies -- almost all of them extreme. There are breathless condemnations of Trump policy; cries for his speedy impeachment; furious demands for his administration to admit its role in any number of global and political conspiracies; #Resist-ers; #TrumpTrain conductors and passengers; impassioned defenses of his character; praise for Trump as chessmaster-in-chief, 10 steps ahead and constantly outwitting enemies. There are comedians, actors, doctors, scientists, admirers, goons, politicos, activists, journalists, and trolls. ... And within seconds they’re all just a few pixels below the president’s missive — yelling, arguing, and looking to be the one Donald Trump sees when he checks his Twitter feed.”
-- “Dan Scavino is the other @realdonaldtrump,” by Eliana Johnson: “The White House is brimming with aides, lawyers, and communications gurus who are begging President Donald Trump to stop tweeting. The lone exception is Dan Scavino, the president’s former golf caddy who now oversees the White House’s messaging on social media. Scavino is in many ways the president’s mini-me, a man whose bombast, impulse control, and instinct for a good punch match those of his boss.
“After Trump last weekend blasted London Mayor Sadiq Khan after a terror attack that killed eight people, Scavino posted a message citing Khan’s own 2016 criticism of Trump’s rhetoric on Muslims and terrorism—complete with a Trumpian, all-caps ‘WAKE UP!!!!’ And like his boss, Scavino has ignored warnings from high-level White House officials to tone down his tweets. Scavino was reprimanded on Friday for violating the Hatch Act, which prohibits senior executive branch officials from using their authority to interfere with elections, by calling in April for the ouster of Michigan Republican Justin Amash.”
TRUMP INC. -- “Trump Can Take Payments From Foreign Governments, U.S. Says,” by Bloomberg’s Bob Van Voris: “George Washington did it, so Donald Trump can too. That’s the Justice Department’s take on why the 45th president isn’t violating the U.S. Constitution by accepting payments for goods and services from foreign governments without congressional approval. The foreign emoluments clause of the Constitution doesn’t apply to fair-market commercial transactions, such as hotel bills, golf club fees, licensing payments and office rent, the Justice department argued Friday in a filing.”
[email protected]: “Among DOJ’s arguments why Trump emoluments suit should be dismissed. ‘Ten Facts about the Gristmill, George Washington’s Mount Vernon’”
NEW POLITICO SERIES – “5 things Trump did while you weren’t looking: Behind the scandal-of-the-day news, the White House really is changing American policy. A new series from The Agenda explains how,” by Danny Vinik: “1. A boost for Uber and McDonald’s. ... 2. A trade war with Mexico averted—for now. ... 3. The end of a DOJ ‘slush fund.’ ... 4. A win for nursing homes. ... 5. Get THAAD out of here.”
2018 WATCH -- “Senate Democrats try to spark rural comeback in 2018,” by Maggie Severns: “While many voters in rural areas complained that Democrats forgot them in 2016, and party strategists rush this year to find a new message to bring them back in the fold, Democratic senators up for reelection in 2018 have little time to spare to fix their party’s issues. These battleground-state Democrats are quick to note that they got elected in the first place by tending to voters outside their states’ biggest population centers. And they are focused this year on winning back voters their party has failed to connect with since the last time they appeared on the ballot.”
LUNCH WITH THE FT -- BERNIE SANDERS in DUBLIN! -- by Simon Kuper: “Sanders’ car pulls up (brilliantly, his Irish driver is called Bernie Saunders) and the senator clambers out, his shoulders hunched, his suit crumpled, his strands of white hair unkempt, not the standard American politician with Botox and a hair transplant. Today he is tieless, too: he has been assured that Irish president Michael D Higgins won’t mind. The tiny Higgins appears, dispensing handshakes and hugs.
“‘I think Trump is actually quite smart -- in his own way and for his own reasons. He may not know a lot about foreign policy or healthcare, but he is not a dumb man by any means. I think what Trump is doing is filling the agenda of people like the Koch brothers: essentially doing away with every major programme passed since Franklin D Roosevelt that would help working people, the elderly, children, the sick and the poor, and at the same time providing massive tax breaks to the rich and large corporations. In this budget, Trump did not propose cuts to social security [the American retirement programme], but I have zero doubt that will be coming down the pike.’”
KATY TUR PROFILE -- AND SHE’S A PHISH FAN! -- COVER OF NYT SUNDAY STYLES -- “Katy Tur Is Tougher Than She Looks: The NBC correspondent’s swift and surprising rise at the network mirrored that of the presidential candidate she covered and occasionally battled with,” by Luisita Lopez Torregrosa: “Mr. Trump’s sudden rise mirrors that of Ms. Tur’s. Just two years ago she was a foreign correspondent for NBC, living in London. But she happened to be in New York when the future president announced his candidacy, on June 16, 2015. ‘How would you like to spend the summer in New York?’ an NBC News executive asked her. ‘We want you on Trump’s campaign. It will be six weeks, tops. But hey, if he wins, you’ll go to the White House.’
“A year or so later, she had captured national attention. Colleagues rallied around her, thousands tweeted #iamwithtur, magazines came calling, and HarperCollins engaged her to write a book on the 2016 campaign; ‘Unbelievable’ is due out in September. Then there is the afternoon anchor slot, which MSNBC gave her in January. In April, she received a Walter Cronkite Award for excellence. And this month she will become a contributor to the much publicized new NBC News program ‘Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly.’”
MEDIAWATCH -- “10 months ago, Univision bought Gawker in a fire sale, and it’s been messy ever since,” by Business Insider’s Maxwell Tani: “CEO Raju Narisetti ... is leading GMG through the media company’s merger with Fusion Media Group, which is owned by the Spanish-language juggernaut Univision. According to the CEO, the transition has been a success. But conversations with over a dozen current and former employees painted a starkly different picture. Since the deal, the six former Gawker Media sites -- Gizmodo, Jezebel, Deadspin, Kotaku, Jalopnik, and Lifehacker -- have struggled with indecision, a dysfunctional bureaucracy, and an exodus of top leadership and institutional knowledge that gave Gawker Media its editorial bite.”

GREAT WEEKEND READS, curated by Daniel Lippman:
--“Why Men Don’t Live as Long as Women,” by Richard G. Bribiescas in Nautilus Magazine – per The Browser’s description: “Are we at peak male testosterone? Testosterone raises the sex drive, builds muscle and burns fat. It also shortens the lifespan by encouraging recklessness, weakening the immune system, and raising the risk of prostate cancer. The reproductive payoff favoured high testosterone in ancient times: More children meant more surviving children. But now, thanks to monogamy and medicine, the trade-off is less clear. The evolutionary advantage may be passing to fathers who live longer.”

With eyes now on the private sector for environmental leadership, can Musk pull off another miracle?”
--“Soccer for Intellectuals,” by Bécquer Seguín in Public Books: “Any baseball or boxing narrative can be easily embodied in the momentary struggle between two individuals. This setup sometimes leads to what can feel, in the moment, like a random car wreck, but Maher’s been doing comedy for forty years. He’s addicted to provocation, and more often than not, he’s driving his show into a brick wall by design.”

--“The horrors of getting hit by a pitch,” by Tim Kurkjian in ESPN on Aug 3, 2012: “When that baseball is flying directly at a hitter at 95 mph, and that batter can hear the ball spinning, like the sound of a giant bee attacking, and then it hits that batter and those red seams bore into the skin like the teeth of a buzz saw, well, the elegance and romance of that pearl is replaced by piercing, pulsating, primal pain. Mostly when we spend too much money, we pretend that the money isn’t real. Questions Answers
Adam, I've been a huge fan of MVF for years, but I had NO idea you were also on one of my other favorite shows back in 2004--All My Children! What was your experience like on the set? Was La Lucci as sweet in real life as she seems? Thanks! :) For me, it was a very big deal, since this was one of the first television gigs I got after coming out of Yale School of Drama. It was hard enough going for an acting degree in a family full of doctors and lawyers, because when you come out of law school or med school, you're going to be interning at a hospital or law firm, but for actors there's no direct matriculation, so there's nothing for your parents to point to unless you're doing a show. So for me to do such a well-respected and recognized television show close to graduation was incredibly validating for me in the eyes of my family and friends. The closest I came for Miss Lucci was holding the door for her as I was coming into the television studio and she was leaving. She is approximately 5.5 tall, of which the top 9 inches must be her incredibly fabulous and ornate hairdo. She had FULL -and I mean FULL - makeup, even leaving the studio in pouring rain.
1) Do you find it hard to carry on a normal life in public? You have such an "everyman" personality on TV that I'd imagine that people feel comfortable approaching you all the time. 1.) I'm still the same person, as much as I suppose I can be? In fact, I still live in the exact same place when I was on unemployment. I literally just moved up a floor. But yes, sometimes approachability is a blessing and a curse, and it gets very uncomfortable when people get a little too comfortable, or take liberties that they shouldn't when they first meet me. I pride myself on being a pretty approachable guy, but some people are out-and-out disrespectful and feel they have a degree of familiarity with me because they've seen me on TV, but they don't actually have that comfortability with me in real life, and it can get awkward sometimes.
Why did you choose BBQ as the core of your new itv series? Are you looking forward to seeing what the UK has to offer? Good question. BBQ is the fastest-growing cuisine in the United Kingdom right now, with people spending upwards of $50 million dollars every year on BBQs, grills, and equipment / tools for it. Because it is a culinary art form that is synonymous with my country, it is really quite beautiful to see how my friends across the pond have come to adopt it and make it their own, as well as create some of the most successful and lucrative restaurants in the UK right now. But, nearly every culture on earth has some variety of open-fire or open-pit cooking. So it is something that speaks to people of ALL backgrounds.
Did you have any words for Mourinho when he didn't let you play much? I'm convinced it was because your a Spurs fan. Obviously, I wasn't thrilled, considering I had spent nearly 2 years preparing for that match, but the truth is, I had torn my left calf muscle in training, and the important thing was that the team would win, not my macho pride. Do I wish I had been given a greater chance to make an impact? Of course I do. But if the choice was to play longer and lose the match, or play 5 minutes and win, I'm glad i only played 5 minutes and we won.
That said - he better give me more time next year.
He may be the "special one," but I still think I could kick his ass.
Adam, what moves do Spurs need to make to reach the Champions League next year? COYS In my opinion, they need a second striker. I don't think we are a team that can exist with a single striker as a target man. My favorite spot is when there are really beautiful relationships between strike partners. For example, Shevchenko and Rebrov, or Del Piero and Trezeguet. I also think a great central midfielder who could dictate plays and really control the tempo of the game would be amazing. I also think a couple of fast wingbacks who could control would be helpful, especially on the left side.
Adam! I'm still stuck on that Cosmo centerfold you shot a while back. You looked incredibly fit and sexy. What was that photo shoot like for you? It was cold!
Naturally, it was a little nerve-wracking. But the photographer and his staff were absolute professionals. The funniest moment was when the photographer was on the ladder above me, and I had the soccer ball covering my power source, and he told me "this is an awkward thing to say to another guy, and this is a good problem to have, but the ball isn't really covering everything - I'm going to need you to tuck."
So I spent the rest of the afternoon doing my best SILENCE OF THE LAMBS impression.
Have you ever been to Red Dog Saloon in Shoreditch, London? Just wondering if you have ever done the Devastator or Hot Wing challenge in there? Also who are you hoping for Spurs to sign this summer? COYS. I've only recently gotten to explore the very hip and trendy East Side of London. The only place that i've been to is the Hoxton Grill at the Hoxton Hotel. I personally always wanted them to sign Loïc Rémy. Or Leroy Fer from QPR. I feel we could use a significant mid-field presence, like Honda from Milan - basically someone to fill the void left by Modrić. Fortunately, we have many great players who are coming back from very successful loan spells, like Pritchard and Ali Dalli (?) from MK Dons.
What constitutes the perfect burger for you? Definitely juicy.
Definitely on a softer bun.
A little bit of a seared crust on the exterior, but not burnt.
And not an overload of toppings.
But just enough to enhance the burger.
I don't think they necessarily need to be traditional condiments. But whatever they are - it's about using JUST enough, without going overboard.
And avocado or a fried egg on top never hurt.
Hey, I was recently in Mexico and faced with some... interesting food choices. What's your advice for getting through truly challenging meals? Here's my advice: if you are in another country, try anything at least once, provided you are not allergic, especially if you are a guest in someone's home, or someone is taking you out. Just because it's foreign doesn't mean it's immediately bad. You need to give everything a chance. But if you really can't find anything palatable, nearly any hotel in the world worth its salt has a club sandwich on the room service menu.
Food Fighters is one of my favorite shows! What's your favorite thing about hosting it? When is it coming back? First of all, thank you so much!
I love hosting it, because it celebrates the home cooks who very seldom get their chance to shine. As a host, I also really like it because all my other shows have been about my journey, and i love the opportunity to shed light and give glory to someone else. Season two, which is absolutely amazing, begins in the United States on July 3rd on NBC.
Were any of your previously enjoyable dishes ruined by a challenge you did for the show? Sadly, I really can't do raw oysters anymore.
Since I did that challenge, I may have eaten roughly a dozen total in the years since.
The only thing that makes them super appetizing to me is a brilliant chef named Carey Savona, from Heirloom Restaurant - his oysters with a Campari gelee and an edible flower. I still enjoy oysters, but these days I tend to need them grilled, steamed, or fried.
Big fan and love the new show Man Finds Food! I'll be honest - we staged that "whole man interrupting me" thing because I never ever wanted to reveal my preference.
As someone from Minnesota, I'd like to finally clear the air, if you can remember, which was the better Jucy (Juicy) Lucy Burger? 5-8 Club or Matt's Bar? I, of course, have my preference. But I tend to only tell those nearest & dearest to me so it doesn't prevent either location from getting business.
Hi Adam! Are you planning on coming to Singapore in the near future? We have pretty awesome food over here :) I would love to return to Singapore to film.
Before last summer, we were supposed to go and tape Man Finds Food internationally. Hopefully, people will continue to watch it, Wednesdays at 9 PM eastern, so that we can shoot these amazing episodes we have created. I love the chili crab there, and staying at Raffle's Hotel was one of the most memorable experiences I have had as a traveler.
You're working with Mylene Klass now, how often does she break into an uncontrollable rage when she realises she has to pay tax? I think Mylene is incredibly lovely, incredibly professional and intelligent, and she is fun to be around and a great mom. I don't know about anything else that you're referencing, and quite frankly, it's none of my affair. All I know is I'm excited to work with her, and she is a lovely and dynamic person. And I intend upon making the best television show in the United Kingdom with her.
Hey Adam! Loving Man Finds Food and hope it comes back for a second season. Curious if there are any popular cuisines that aren't quite your cup tea. I noticed that throughout the entire Man vs. Food run, there wasn't really any ethnic food - Chinese, Indian, etc. Was it just harder to find challenges around that kind of cuisine, or are you just not as big of a fan of those varieties? Actually, we showed both Chinese and Indian, as well as Japanese. I wanted to show more "ethnic" dishes, but the network felt they would rather focus on more traditionally American dishes, which I feel was a little unfortunate. But I personally am a fan of virtually every global cuisine. Of the modern trends, I'm not super into the hipsterrific stuff that is so overly artisinal, or unhealthy for unhealthy's sake. I also think some of the "foraged" types of restaurants are a little pretentious for my taste.
Why give up your eating competitions? How do you feel about professional eating competitors giving you a hard time about not being one of them, or that they could do better than you? Hahaha. I honestly couldn't care. They can say whatever they like. I always stated that I wasn't a competitive eater at the top of every show. Never aspired to be one. Maybe they could eat more, but that wasn't what the show was really about and certainly not what travel channel wanted in a host. Anyone who thinks deifferently really missed the boat on MvF.
I live in the DC MD VA area. What are some restaurants that I definitely have to try out here? I am also going to NYC tomorrow, any restaurant suggestions in that area as well? I'll be right by Time Square. Not so much in the Times Square area, but if you are in that vicinity, it's worth checking out Little Brazil, which is a strip of 46th Street (if I'm not mistaken) and Hell's Kitchen, which is just due west.

2010.03.08 16:40 phil_dunphy Top five people with whom you'd love to share a beer

I love listing things and have a few of them, but one of my favorites is people I'd share a beer with. Not role models or potential sexual partners, just really cool people you would like to hang out with and joke around with if you had the chance. Here are mine:
  1. Mike Rowe from Dirty jobs
  2. George Clooney (humanitarian, joker, all around cool guy)
  3. Adam Richman from Man Vs Food
  4. Jeff Bridges from the Big Lebowski
  5. Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam
Am I the only one who does this? If not, what are some other good ideas?
